FAQ Screen Printing Embroidery Heat Transfers & DTG Printing

SCREEN PRINTING

How does pricing work?

Pricing for screen printing is based on 3 variables. The number of colours in the print. The number of prints on the item or object & the number of garments or objects to be printed. So you can see with our pricing how you can reduce your costs by adjusting these variables.

Why do more colours cost more?

The way screen printing works is we have to set a screen up for every colour in every print. The more screens the higher the set up costs. It also takes longer to print 4 colours as we need to make 4 separate print passes on each garment.

What can you screen print on?

We can print on most types of materials by using different types of inks. Some materials we may have to add additives to make the ink stick or stretch. The main criteria is that the surface where we have to print can be laid flat horizontally.

How many colours can you print?

We can print up to 6 colours.

EMBROIDERY

How does pricing work?

Pricing for embroidery is based on how many stitches in the design. How many trims or colour changes there are. There is a charge to set up a new embroidery design. As the numbers increase on how many embroideries we do the cost will reduce.

VINYL HEAT TRANSFERS

How does pricing work?

Pricing for transfers is based on 2 things. Time involved in weeding the design. The amount of material used.

DTG Printing

What is Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing?

DTG Printing is a new technology that enables high-quality printing of digital files onto a range of apparel.
Great for printing Full-Colour images onto garments in a matter of minutes. We use the Brother GTX DTG Printer to do all of our printing

What are the positives of DTG Printing

Easily achieves Full-Colour images without additional costs. Great for small runs. Extremely high resolution prints. Perfect for photos and highly detailed artwork

What are the negatives of DTG Printing

Longer print time. Not ideal for bulk orders. Uses water based inks, the print is not as durable as Screen Printing. Only able to print on 100% Cotton, and or up to 40% Polyester blends. Like all prints stay away from heat and irons etc.

What can you DTG onto?

Anything that we can fit onto our platen and adheres to our minimum 60% Cotton requirement should be able to be printed.

What is your maximum print size for DTG printing

Our maximum print size for DTG Printing is 350mm (w) x 400mm (h).

How does pricing work

With DTG printing pricing is based on how big the design is. The bigger the more ink used. When the print is to be applied to a coloured garment a base print is applied first. This print will use twice as much ink.

ARTWORK & DESIGNS

What do we have to do or supply?
Supply your artwork in its original format, then there should be no charges. Maybe you may of already paid somebody to do it. To improve your artwork there would be a charge. This depends on how good the artwork quality is that you supply. Artwork priced by the graphic artist. It is usually based on a time frame usually to create the design. We will contact you by email or phone if artwork is not satisfactory.
